This feature is to protect you, this verification login can be used in many different ways on your website.

For example, if your website or web store sells or advertises age restricted content or products like alcohol, tobacco or medication you can ask for verification of age before your site is made visible.

If your website is only partially restricted or age restriction only applies to certain pages or content then these verification windows can also be applied individually to content like video and audio that maybe deemed inappropriate for all webpage users.

In this instance the media won’t be played until the age is verified, however its not a comprehensive locked site option its more to legally make your users aware that the content is age restricted.
